Color-coated coils are known to everyone in the construction industry, and the demand for color steel coils in the market is also increasing. Due to the different uses and use environmental conditions of color-coated coils, there are many factors that affect their service life. According to the use function, the service life of color-coated coils can be divided into the following types:
1) The service life of coating refurbishment: about 12-20 years, which refers to the use time for most of the defects such as delamination and rust on the surface of the color-coated coil, which causes further corrosion of the substrate.
2) Ultimate service life: about 20 years, refers to the long-term use of color-coated coils without refurbishment until serious corrosion occurs and they can no longer be used.
3) Decorative service life: about 8-12 years, referring to the subjective fading, chalking, cracking, and partial peeling of the coating on the surface of the color-coated coil. It has an impact on the image and aesthetics of the building, but it has not yet reached the point where the coating has lost its protective effect.
